David Nixon is a director and producer originally from Sydney, Australia. David Nixon has been producing and directing films for the past 30 years. He has produced documentaries in Russia, India, and throughout Europe; national commercials for Subway, Nickelodeon, Walt Disney World, and Ritz Carleton Hotels; and feature films such as Fireproof, Facing the Giants, & Letters to God.
In 2006, David produced the wildly successful movie Facing the Giants. The movie garnered over $10 million at the box office and went on to make over $50 million worldwide. After that impressive accomplishment, David and his team brought their expertise to their next feature Fireproof. Fireproof was named the #1 independent film of 2008 and grossed $33.4 million at the box office, and another $63 million worldwide. These two movies have been credited with creating a whole new genre of film, faith-based films.
In 2010 David finished his next feature, Letters to God, the heartwarming story of an 8-year-old cancer patient who writes letters to God. Then in 2012, David finished the feature film, To Write Love on Her Arms, the true story that created an internet phenomenon with millions of followers around the world. This film also created a non-profit movement dedicated to presenting hope and finding help for people struggling with depression, addiction, and self-injury.
